It is that time again! My monthly blog hop for Scrapbooking. This month’s theme is MIlestones.
For those of you that do not know how a Blog Hop works, let me explain. Monthly, I will be posting a set of scrapbook pages, and then a link to the next blog for you to see their pages. If you click on each link, you will eventually be brought back to my page, and that way you will know you have seen all of the posts. Or, you can click the names listed below to go to each blog separately. I hope you enjoy this monthly feature on my blog.
Please comment and give me feedback. I want my blog to be a place where you can come and get inspired!
For this month’s pages, I chose to keep my layout simple. I only used brightly colored paper to bring it to life. And color does bring it to life. You will see the colors I used below. Click on them to be taken to my shop and see everything else I have in those same colors.
I don’t know about you. But when I plan a scrapbook page, I always start with the title. The title for me is my anchor. It is the starting point to which all the other elements are tied. For this page’s title, I die cut out the letters twice, once in cardstock and once in DSP. The Designer Series Paper I used is from the NEW Hostess Pack of paper called Pattern Party.
Next, I started to create a focal point to tie the theme together. I knew I wanted rainbow colors but at first, I wasn’t sure how I would use them. I finally decided to make rainbow strips and use them all around the picture mats.
The colorful mats were the next thing I worked on. I wanted to use one of every color cardstock that I used to create the strips. I love the pops of color. They just put a smile on my face.
I did some wider strips on each outer edge of the layout. I really like how the thinner and wider strips look together. They do a good job surrounding the colorful mats.
Here is another view of the thinner stripes and how I set them up on the page.
Here are pictures of the two pages side by side. The black color of the main page really helps the bright colors shine.
A last look at my two page spread. If you have an questions about these pages feel free to message me or comment below.
Please click the wreath that says next to go to the next blog and see the scrapbook pages. There are three of us in this blog hop.
