It is Friday! Happy Fri-YAY everyone! What does that mean for the blog? – Feature Friday. Today we are going to explore a product called Stampin’ Spritzers. This week on the blog we have been using the Thanks a Bunch Stamp Set and on Tuesday’s Live Stream I made a card that used the Stampin’ Spritzers. It is a product that has been in the Catalog for quite some time. You might have seen it and said, “I wonder how you use that.” If that is you and you haven’t seen my Live Stream from Tuesday, click here to go to my blog post that has the replay video located there.
As you can see in the picture above, the Stampin’ Spritzers come in a two-pack. I really enjoyed using them on Tuesday’s card. I used them for every part of the card from the background to the stamping, to even the ribbon embellishment. Again, if you missed that blog post click HERE and you can take a look at how I used the Stampin’ Spritzers on that card. I will show you a sneak peek of that card below.
Here is a bit more information on the Stampin’ Spritzers.
Stampin’ Spritzers are a fun coloring tool. They can be filled with water or rubbing alcohol and then many of our coloring products added, like Classic Stampin’ Ink. These can store this solution for future projects, or they can be cleaned and reused.
To clean your Stampin’ Spritzers, first, unscrew and empty the barrel, and then remove the depressor cap from the top. Rinse with rubbing alcohol and then run all parts under water. Reassemble the Stampin’ Spritzers and spritz with both rubbing alcohol and then water until it runs clear.
Spritzing with REINKERS
- There are no “rules” for the number of drops per ounce of water. It’s all about the intensity of color you want and of course experimentation.
- Add drops slowly and test for the intensity of color that you want. It is easier to add more than to start with too much.
- Darker colors will use fewer drops.
- I start with my Stampin’ Spritzer three-quarters of the way full.
- You can fill it with rubbing alcohol or water. The higher the concentration of rubbing alcohol the faster the drying time.
- You can set your cardstock aside to dry or if impatient you can iron it or take a heat tool to it.
- OPTIONAL – you can add platinum paint to the Stampin’ Spritz for a shimmery re-inker effect. I prefer to spray one more layer of just shimmer mist after keeping my re-inker “pure” for other uses when I may not want the shimmer effect. You can purchase the platinum paint here from Amazon.
All Amazon links are affiliate links which means I get a small commission from Amazon if you purchase with my link. But note it is at no cost to you. I appreciate it if you do use my link.
Tips for using the Stampin’ Spritzers – These Spritzers are powerful they provide coverage over a larger area than other mini misters on the market. The further you hold the Spritzer from the paper the finer the spray mist.
What do I do with the Stampin’ Spritzer now that I have a re-inker mix in it?
You can use the Spritzer with Re-inkers for:
- Masking/Stencil
- Color Wash
- Coloring White Ribbon – yes spritz ribbons for fun effects
- Fly Specking (adding that antiqued look you would normally do with a toothbrush and ink)
- Spritzing Direct to solid image stamps before stamping onto cardstock (Basic White Thick, Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper, and Shimmery White Cardstock are my favorites.
