Tips, Tricks, and Techniques Friday – Intricate Die Tricks

It is Friday! Happy Fri-YAY everyone! What does that mean is for the blog? – Tips, Tricks, and Techniques. Since I have been using the Artistically Inked Bundle, I had to come up with a tip, trick, or technique using it. I have a tip today to help you when you use intricate dies like the ones in Artistic Dies.

Sunday’s blog post and Wednesday’s blog post each used the intricate dies from the Artistic Dies. When you have a die that has a lot of detail, it is hard to remove all the little bits of paper from the die-cut piece once it has been run through your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. So today, I will share a tip to help you remove those small bits of paper easily.

You start with cardstock, a dryer sheet, and the die of your choice.

First, you lay down your dryer sheet, cardstock, and die onto your #3 die plate on the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

As shown above, put your second #3 plate on top and run it through your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

The first picture shows the piece turned over and the dryer sheet on top. I wanted you to see it also cuts into the dryer sheet. The dryer sheet holds together instead of cutting all the way through because of all the fibrous threads.

Flip it back over after checking it out and pull off the outer cardstock piece that wasn’t die-cut at all. It should stick to the dryer sheet.

Slowly peel back the die-cut piece a little at a time. The small pieces should stick to the sheet as it is being pulled back.

You can see the three pieces laying side by side. I have also included a close-up of the dryer sheet with all the pieces stuck to it. Lastly, you see a picture of the die-cut lifted off the dryer sheet. This is a very simple way to remove those detailed dies without having tiny pieces of paper all over your craft room. Look below for more pictures of how I removed the flower die from Artistic Dies in the same manner.

I am thrilled to share with you this simple fix for removing detailed dies without making a paper mess. I hope you learned something and will use this tip in the future. I also hope you consider purchasing this beautiful Bundle with these dies included. They would make a great addition to what you already own or even a great first set.
