Well, I did it! I posted every day for a week straight! That makes me so happy. And guess what? It is Sunday again. Every Sunday will be Simple Stamping Sunday. I am not really a simple stamper. I like lots of layers, bling, ink colors, die cuts, and ribbons. You get the idea! I have been stamping for over 20 years now, and I sometimes forget what it was like to start. But, since it is Sunday, I am posting a simple stamping project. And by that I mean, only using stamps, ink, and paper. Basic projects that anyone can do. They won’t have to own half the Stampin’ Up! catalog to make them! Sometimes it is nice to go back to how you began.
This card is a Simple Stamped card. It uses only stamps, ink, and paper. I used the Sweet as a Peach Stamp Set, Basic White Cardstock, Balmy Blue Cardstock, and Ink. It is simple and clean. This stamp set is Distinctive. That means, it was made with texture and gradation of color once inked. So even using one color of ink on an image, you get light and dark tones on that image.
Here is a closer view of the card. Even just using one color of ink for each image, you can see the gradation of each ink color on the peaches and leaves. This stamp set is so incredibly beautiful. It will definitely work well for simple stamping. It also has quite a variety of sentiments, which for me is always a plus.
Now let’s take the same concept and take it up a notch.
The first card was a Simple Stamping card, and this one is simple as well. It uses a few more products. This second card represents one created by a Casual Stamper, someone who has been stamping for a while and has collected a few more products. The card has a few more elements added to it. Another layer of Basic White Cardstock was added to the front and matted with a piece of Pale Papaya cardstock. That added layer was raised using a product called Stampin’ Dimensionals, small shaped foam pieces that give layers a lift. The peaches on this layer were stamped using two ink colors. After stamping the peaches in a lighter color, a sponge was used to add a darker color around the edges. The final result is a realistic-looking peach. A strip of Designer Series Paper was also added along the bottom edge of the card. Check out the close-ups below.
Now that I have shown you the Beginner card, and the card of a Casual Crafter. Next, I will show you the card of an Avid Stamper. An Avid stamper is someone who has been crafting for quite a while and has acquired more than your average amount of supplies. They like to try new things and make unique cards.
The Avid Stamper likes to add even more to a card. They not only have purchased the stamp set but also the matching dies. They also love ribbon and embellishments. They own plenty of ink colors, additional die-cut sets and even Stampin’ Blends Markers. All those things when added to this card help it achieve a more “professional” look. Here below are the close-ups.
I hope that you enjoyed this Simple Stamping Sunday blog post and will be back every Sunday to share more projects with you. I will leave you with one last image of all three cards together.
