I can’t wait to show you the Nuts about Squirrels Stamp Set. This is my seventh week straight of blogging every day! It has been so much fun. I love what I do, and now I get to share it with you every day. Here we are, Sunday again. Every Sunday will be Simple Stamping Sunday.
I am not a simple stamper. I like lots of layers, bling, ink colors, die cuts, and ribbons. You get the idea! I have been stamping for over 20 years, and I sometimes forget what it was like to start. It is Simple Stamping Sunday, and that means… I am posting a simple stamping project. And by that I mean, only using stamps, ink, and paper. Basic projects that anyone can do. They won’t have to own half the Stampin’ Up! catalog to make them! LOL! Sometimes it is nice to go back to how you began.
This card is a Simple Stamped card. Let’s call it a Beginner Card. It uses only stamps, ink, and paper. I used the Nuts about Squirrels Stamp Set, Merry Merlot Cardstock for the base, and accented with Basic White and Pumpkin Pie Cardstock. The inks used were Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Smoky Slate Classic Inks, and of course Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. This stamp set is so cute. I just love the little squirrel. Check out the close-ups.
Taking a closer view of the card. You can see that even though I used just a few colors of ink, the results are a fun Fall card. When you look at this stamp set in the new mini catalog, you might think that you won’t use it enough to justify the purchase. This week my mission is to show you how much it has to offer. I hope you will see how truly versatile it is because it would make a great addition to your collection or a great first stamp set. I will spend an entire week on it, sharing ideas daily. By Saturday, there will be quite a few projects for my efforts. Come back to my blog daily to see them all.
That first card is a Simple Stamping card, and this one is simple too just uses a few extra products. This second card represents one created by a Casual Stamper, someone who has been stamping for a while and has collected more products. It has a few more items added to it.
The background layer is essentially the same as the first card but has an added color of ink and the veining was added to the leaves. A branch was also added to the panel and a few different color leaves were stamped. The squirrel was also fuss-cut out and adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals, small shaped foam pieces that give layers a lift. Because a Casual Stamper has many more products at their disposal than a Beginner, the results are similar but just a step up. Check out the close-ups below.
Now that you have seen the Beginner card, and the card of a Casual Stamper, next, I will show you the card of an Avid Stamper. An Avid stamper is someone who has been crafting for quite a while and has acquired more than your average amount of supplies. They like to try new things and make unique cards using lots of extras.
The Avid Stamper likes to add even more to a card. They not only have purchased the stamp set but also the matching dies. Ribbon and embellishments are almost always used. They own plenty of ink colors, additional die-cut sets, and even Stampin’ Blends Markers. All those things when added to a card help it achieve a more “professional” look. On this card, the Nuts About Squirrels Stamp Set was used, and also the Love of Leaves Stamp Set and matching Stitched Leaves Dies. I added that Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon which I just love. It turned out so cute! Down below are the close-ups.
I hope that you enjoyed this Simple Stamping Sunday blog post using the Nuts About Squirrels Stamp Set. Every Sunday pop back in so that I can share more projects with you. I will leave you with images of all three cards. If you want to see last week’s Simple Stamping post, click here.
